Tom's Planners future looks very promising: our user base grows with more than 2000 users per month largely by word of mouth so we are really exited about what the next few years have in store.THE STORY BEHIND TOM'S PLANNER
Tom (short for Thomas) had been working as a project manager for 6 years when he decided to quit his job and become a web developer. One of the things that bothered him most as a project manager was the often-frustrating process of making Gantt Charts in spreadsheets. He decided to try and develop a tool that would do a better job.When it was finished, some former project manager friends and colleagues were so enthusiastic that they wanted to use it too. Because all his friends call him Tom, the tool was soon nicknamed Tom's Planner.
In November 2009 the first public beta version of Tom's Planner emerged and got some serious press coverage. After more than 25 thousand people signed up in less than 9 months, Tom and his team launched the first official version of Tom's Planner in August 2010.
