Typically in a project team only the project manager has a paid account. All the other participants have free accounts. If you received an invitation to collaborate on a schedule, a free account will suffice. If you want to invite others to collaborate on your schedules you will need a paid account.

Do I have to install Tom's Planner or pay for the newest version?
Of course not! Tom's Planner lives in the cloud like most of the online tools in your arsenal. And when we add new features to a plan, you'll get 'em right away — automatically.
What types of payment methods do you accept?
We accept PayPal and most debit and credit cards. If you have any questions or special requests, email us at support@tomsplanner.com.
Does my whole team need a paid plan?
We know Gantt charts work best when everyone pitches in. So on top of being easy for everyone to use, it's free for everyone to collaborate as well. The only people that need a paid plan are the ones creating and sharing Gantt charts.
I want to switch, but I don't want to undo everything I've done elsewhere — can you help?
Yep, we can help. We've made it easy to import projects from Trello, Basecamp, Excel, MS Project, and more. This is a huge time saver.
Am I locked into whichever plan I choose today?
You can upgrade, downgrade, and even leave us at any time. Log in, click the “My Account” link in the top right corner, then click the upgrade or downgrade button. You'll find an option to cancel your account here, too.
If I join today but switch to another tool in the future, will I lose my work?
This would be cruel! Just as we've made it easy to import from other tools, we've made it easy to export anything you do in Tom's Planner as well. We want you to stay because you love it, not because the cost of switching is too high.
How does the Corporate account discount work?
Save 25% off either plan with 5-9 subscriptions, 35% with 10-19, and 50% with 20 or more subscriptions. These savings are in addition to the 25% you can save with an annual subscription. If you add people to your plan, we'll bill you at the end of the year based on actual usage.
What's the difference between exporting and embedding charts?
Any changes you make after you export a chart won't be reflected. You'll need to export and distribute your chart after each important change to keep everyone up to date. Embedded charts (Unlimited plan only) reflect changes in real time automatically. It's a major time saver.

I created Tom's Planner to solve my own problems as a project manager. I couldn't keep up in Excel, but I didn't want to switch to the kind of project management software that required a thick manual and endless tutorials. You know what I'm talking about.
