Tom’s Planner acquires Gantto Inc.
We are happy to announce that Tom’s Planner has acquired Gantto Inc.
Y Combinator-backed Gantto founded in 2010 provides an easy-to-use web-based project management application that reproduces the experience of sketching a project plan on a whiteboard. Businesses like Fujistu, Twitter, and Lucasfilm use Gantto on a daily basis.
We have acquired Gantto primarily for its strong market position and its active user base. Due to the fact that Gantto is based upon a different technology stack, we will gradually phase out support for the Gantto product and continue to work on the Tom’s Planner tool.
Following this decision, the joined companies will continue to operate under the Tom’s Planner brand. Of course, all original Gantto users will be offered ample time to switch to Tom’s Planner without losing any of their work.
While maintaining its famed user-friendliness in the coming month's Tom’s Planner will start adding more advanced features as plugins to the tool. Gantto’s knowledge and experience will be invaluable in that process!
